Geez where has the last couple of weeks gone??
I can’t believe Easter is already this weekend. Where the F does the time go? You guys know I love Easter. Remember these bomb ass cupcakes from last year? Spring time is my fav, bc it means it’s that much closer to Summer!
I have been loving all the wild blooming flowers everywhere. We have a huge daisy patch behind our apartments. I picked a million and now have them in vases in every room. Daisies are my absolute favorite flower, and fo free? Uh ya.
Speaking of all the blooming flowers, you guys know what is blooming like crazy right now? Lavender! ha I’m kinda obsessed! I picked a bunch of fresh sprigs the other day, and picked up the best sparking lemonade from Trader Joes. It’s not too sweet and the bubbles give it an extra touch of elegance.
I muddled a couple of tablespoons of fresh lavender into the lemonade and then strained it. You can leave it in there if you like, although Tommy said he doenst like to eat plants. WTF it’s good for you!
∴Mermaid Guide to making Sparking Lavender Lemonade∴
Makes about 4 servings
1 bottle sparking lemonade
2 tablelspoons lavender buds
4 sprigs lavender for garnish
1 drop per glass lavender essential oil
Muddle lavender buds to release the oils. Sprinkle into a glass over ice. Pour about 5 ounces sparkling lemonade into each cup. Add 1 drop lavender oil to each glass. Garnish with lemon and sprig of fresh lavender
Ok.. essential oils. So. You must make sure you have the brand that you can ingest. It will have nutritional facts on the bottle. Some oils are not safe to eat. The oil in the photo is not an ingestible kind, so I didn’t add it to the lemonade. But, if you have the oils that are safe to eat, it will give a really beautiful flavor to the lemonade. Just sayin
Happy Easter mermaids!
XO, Melissa ♥
